21/04/10 Openings and Closings
4/21 I just saw that Zons in Jamaica Plain has closed its doors-where will I go for mac and cheese? Any suggestions? I was thinking Silvertone… Temptations Cafe in Brookline’s Coolidge Corner has opened its doors. This location has much more seating than the original location near the St. Mary’s T Stop on Beacon Street

21/04/10 South End Formaggio
While the prices are a bit high, so is everything in the South End. I am glad that I don’t live closer because not only would I be broke from spending all my money here, I would also be 800lbs. The shop is tiny but it is packed to the gills with all kinds of […]
21/04/10 Brookline Spa
You could go to Brookline Spa and have a different sandwich every day and not repeat the same kind for at least 2 months!!

21/04/10 Lakota Bakery
I had gone into South End Formaggio and seen these cookies. I bought the Vanilla Sandwich with chocolate cookies and the shortbread cookie. Yum! I had seen Lakota featured on Chronicle and made the trek out to Arlington to try them out. They only take cash or check, $15 a dozen or $1.35 each. Don’t […]

20/04/10 Zaftigs
This Jewish style deli is named after a word that loosely means ‘pleasantly plump’. Zaftigs is certainly not the place for those who are counting their calories.

18/04/10 Has the cupcake phenomenon gone too far?
I love cupcakes as much as the next person. It seems like everyone is jumping on the cupcake bandwagon! New shops are sprouting up everywhere and there are books and blogs dedicated solely to the individual dessert. I was at the movies last week and there they were-cupcakes! When I go to the movies, I […]

18/04/10 Kick*ss Cupcakes
I had had these cupcakes before-when they first opened in Somerville, and didn’t think they were very good. In my spirit of giving things another chance-I figured why not. Groupon had an offer that was $9 for half a dozen cupcakes in their new store. Well-if I’m going to try them again I mind as […]

18/04/10 Friendly’s Express
Friendly’s Express is opening on Harvard Street in Brookline’s Coolidge Corner on April 28th, taking over the space that was formerly Qdoba. I find Friendly’s Express a contradiction. Every Friendly’s I’ve ever been to has had slow service-it’s like watching paint dry. Apparently, at this place, you will order at the counter-you wait at one […]

16/04/10 Boloco
John, the CEO of Boloco, reached out to me after I wrote a not so great review of his burrito. He offered me a few free burritos too see if giving them another shot would change my mind. I decided not to go back to the Natick store. I figured that perhaps the reason the […]

16/04/10 B&G Oysters
We came in for lunch on a rainy Friday afternoon. There were only a handful of other people inside, but I can just imagine what dinner time is like! I loved the decor: simple, sleek, modern. They have a long bar where you can sit and have a bite or tall tables. They also have […]
