A Little Bit About a Lot of Things

A lifestyle blog with a focus on my food adventures

Katie had told me about Steve’s Greek Cuisine on Newbury street in one of our sessions. It came up because we were talking about how hard it was to find a really good breakfast place that was still affordable. When a buywithme coupon came up, $20 for $40 worth of food, I was in. We went with Phil and Sara, friends of ours, and their 9 month old daughter. When we arrived, there was very little room to maneuver a stroller around in. We sat towards the front, but you could tell that the girl who was sitting on the inside table next to us was quite unhappy that we happened to sit near her-she couldn’t get out of her seat. Katie’s big sell to me was that they have Gyros meat served as a side…oh how good does that sound?

So above, the pancakes, with scrambled eggs and a side of gyros meat. At $6.95 we are thinking that this is a STEAL!!

We also get the egg sandwich, for one egg sandwich it is $2.95, and for a two egg sandwich it is $3.95.

The French toast, eggs and fruit cup, instead of meat.

The service was ok-what you would expect for a breakfast diner kind of place. We went to go and pay with the coupon (it was $40 for 4 of us for breakfast), and they told us that it had expired. Whoops, our bad. But then we said that even if they won’t give us the $40, they still have to honor the $20 that it cost to buy the coupon. There was some back and forth, something about how their boss said not to accept the coupons,… quite argumentative on their part, and in the end they wouldn’t accept the coupon (we had to go back to buywithme to get a credit from them). The hassle alone was enough to make me not want to go back there, but the food was good and quite cheap….so it was a mixed bag for us.
