A Little Bit About a Lot of Things

A lifestyle blog with a focus on my food adventures

As you know, if you follow my blog, I have a serious Groupon addiction. I bought one at Harrow’s, something like $15 for $30 worth of food. They have 3 locations, Saugus, Medford and Reading. I was actually surprised at how close Medford was to the city.

You can buy your pies fresh, frozen or, if you call far enough in advance, hot and ready to serve.

I bought two fresh “apartment size” pies, each pie feeds 2 people supposedly. We got about 4 servings out of each pie. You also have your choice of with or without carrots and potatoes-we chose with…have to sneak those veggies in somewhere! Throw it in a 375 degree oven for about an hour and they are ready to serve.

There was tons of chicken inside and the sauce was thick and flavorful. I only wish that there were more crust! I think we got so many servings out of each pie because it fills you up quickly!

I also picked up an apple pie while I was there (2 apartment pies and one apple pie, and it cost be $3 + the groupon price). Not my favorite pie I’m sorry to report. The apples were flavorful-but there was far too much cinnamon. The pie crust was savory, as opposed to sweet, and it didn’t really add anything to the flavor of the pie. Crust is my favorite part about a pie…so I was disappointed.
