A Little Bit About a Lot of Things

A lifestyle blog with a focus on my food adventures

Lilly’s Gourmet pasta is located on Brighton Avenue, near where the old Harper’s Ferry used to be. It’s a tiny little shop that you might miss if you weren’t looking for it. It has one table for four inside and counter seats looking out the window onto the street-so most of their business is take-out (you can order online). It has an interesting concept-pick your pasta, pick your sauce, and then pick your add on toppings, so the pasta you get is totally customized by you! (They have suggested pairings as well).

We order there and take out. Above is the angel hair with tomato sauce, caramelized onions, and sweet sausage. The order took about 10 minutes to be ready. The pasta was just ok. The tomato sauce was commercial.

We also ordered the mushroom ravioli with butter and asiago cheese and jumbo shrimp (5 pieces). The ravioli’s were good, although there wasn’t much of a mushroom taste, the shrimp were far from jumbo and when I got to the bottom of the container, there was about a stick of congealed melted butter..ick.

We also had the mac and cheese bites (8 pieces) that came in a take out container with french fries. They were ok, not much flavor to them-they could have been chicken nuggets for all intensive purposes.

That being said, however, they were the best part of the meal. I think that I would compare the quality of food to what you might find at an Olive Garden, and “gourmet” used in the name of this place is a subjective term.
