A Little Bit About a Lot of Things

A lifestyle blog with a focus on my food adventures

This year Leah invited me to be her plus one at the WGBH Food and Wine Festival Brunch Bar. We spent the morning sampling some really tasty treats!

Noca Provisions brought yogurt with house made granola and fresh blueberries

Lone Star: Ancho BBQ pork tostada with chili roasted sweet potato, maple crema and cilantro

The Farmer’s Daughter brought two dishes, a sweet and savory. Milk and Cereal: pumpkin pan cotta, cereal grains, pear and cranberry compote. Spam and eggs: pork rillette, roasted pear and bernaise custard.

Island Creek Oyster Bar brought a farm egg salad tea sandwich with smoked salmon on white rye.

Field and Vine: Roasted delicate squash with hot pepper labne, granola and a herb salad.

Union Square Donuts came with maple bacon donuts.

One of my favorites was the king crab from Salt Raw Bar in Plymouth. I’m loving anything that Chef Johnny Sheehan cooks up, we first met him in 2015 at a Norwell Farms event and then followed him to Tavern on the Wharf and Liquid Art House. See our visit a few years back to Tavern on the Wharf.

Another favorite was the cheesecake from Donnell’s Bakery in JP – I tried the turtle flavor and it was delicious, I’ve been craving it ever since. Just a perfect creaminess and the crust had a little extra something in it. They deliver and do catering – is it wrong to order one just for yourself (asking for a friend 😉 )??!

Food Festivals, love them or hate them?
